it started to snow.
As the flakes piled up
the ground disappeared below.
Alas and alack,
Spring's grip, far too loose
I shivered in nightgown
and begged for dreams to induce
In the wan light of day
I woke to winter a'fresh
back with vengeance galore
a thick shelf o'er all enmeshed.
Well, I should just relentand make peace with my home
Tis Canada I live in
and this is Spring in its glory - OHM!!!
WOW, Katherine....I cannot believe all the snow you got?!?!?
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are stunning!
"Tis Canada I live in

HA! Yeah, it's kinda the same here too. I've seen it snow here up until the end of April!
Stay warm and cozy, my friend!
@Ron: "WOW, Katherine....I cannot believe all the snow you got?!?!?"
ReplyDeleteWE DIDN'T HAVE ONE FLAKE ON THAT TREE YESTERDAY! ARGH!!!
Oh Ron, can I tell you how much it hurts to put my winter boots back on! Snow pants were in order for the girls this morning (surprise!), but my youngest refused to relinquish her rubber boots to go to school in. I hope my stubborn sprite won't have frostbite on her tootsies by lunch.
And I too have seen snow in April, blast it. This year might be another one of those years, if the long-term forecasts ring true. groan
oh goodness...i am sleeping with the windows open these days...ah, get out and enjoy it, throw a snow ball for me....
ReplyDeleteReally liked "Spring's grip, far too loose."...says it all. Used to live in colder climes myself...not so much any more. You will get your revenge in a few months when I am sweltering unbearably and you are enjoying a pleasant Canadian summer. Really like your work. Vb
ReplyDelete@Brian: Oh Lord, you beast! I have cracked the windows on the van maybe twice to let in the +0 temps. Not again for the rest of the week, so says the weather forecasters.
ReplyDelete@Versebender: You get way much beach days than I though and for that I am jealous. Thank you so much for your kind words VB. I will try to remember to send you some Canadian summer thoughts when we are under the Great Lakes humidity that we enjoy so much. Have a good one! :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous shots, Katherine! Yes, it's Canada and spring in all her glory :)
ReplyDelete@Talon: Thank you Talon. O Ca-nah-da! Yea, my home and native land is just fickle some days. They predicted a late Spring. Damn them, it looks like they will be right this year.
ReplyDeleteNot only that...It's getting down to 8 tonight!!
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain Katherine....G
oh my - looks like spring has put on the wrong clothes... wishing you lots of blues skies and warm sunshine in the heart...of winter...
ReplyDelete@G-Man: Yeah, you're not far down the road G. Spitting distance really, but at that temperature it will freeze before it hits you. :P
ReplyDelete@Claudia: Claudia, you are an absolute angel! I am loving all the blue skies you sent my way today. Cold enough that the snow isn't really going anywhere, but still brilliantly sunny today. I owe you one! :)
