It should be no surprise that I constantly have at least one, if not 6 books on the go. I am in a book club after all, and we have been reading together for over ten years now. But my love of reading started long before I joined the group. I suppose I can thank my mother for this obsession. And grandmother, grandfather, aunts, uncles, librarians and anyone else who encouraged my love of reading. Books have always been my constant companions and dear friends.
I began writing book reviews to share my thoughts with the ladies of my book club, but have gone beyond our monthly titles. While my book club members, or you, may agree or disagree, I have embraced this space to offer my two cents worth on some of the books I read. Not every book is worth sharing, but some deserve so much more than the reviews I write. I offer what I can and try to be as honest, as possible. It takes a lot of work to write a book and I applaud anyone who makes the effort. Hence my reviews usually hold some sort of redeeming quality, whether the book is 5-stars or not.
Below is a list with links to some of the titles I have read and written reviews for. Please feel free to peruse and comment!
* If you have a book you would like to see reviewed, feel free to drop me a line at krigek@yahoo.ca. Blogs are a great place to get an honest account from someone about a book. I try to offer a genuine account, being as factual and kindly as possible. As per most people, I have preferences to what I like, but if well written, I am open to plenty. I have reviewed memoirs, YA, cook books, books in translation, historical fiction, nonfiction, and even accept products to review on occasion. I won't guarantee to accept everything, but do my best to consider all proposals sent my way. Give me a try!
