Fire in the sky!
Seen by little eye
see it burning high
oh my!
Wisps of silken flame.
Distracted, them to blame.
A cool heat they can claim
just the same.
Roadside pictures sought
lest their vision be wrought
undone with naught,
but memories got.
Sweet child to see the sight
in mornings light
of visions bright.
Ah, my heart swells tight.

Life
through a child's
eyes.
Sorry Brian, but you will have to wait another day for your trip to the dark heart of Africa. I had to make a stop at OneShot today.
Wow! The clouds do resemble flames. That's neat, as is your poem that plays with the imaginative idea. thanks. Great to see you for One Shot again! thanks
ReplyDeleteSuperb explanation for that picture... nice one
ReplyDeleteAWESOME...and I mean AWESOME photographs!!!!
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, I have an attraction to cloud formations. I find myself often looking up at the sky; discovering magic!
Lovely post, dear lady!
And isn't this the truth....

through a child's
eyes."

This was truly a find through child's eyes Ron. My youngest remarked "I see fire Mommy!" as we were headed to daycare. My first thought was panic, then turned to awe when I saw her finger pointing up. Definitely magic that day.
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you swputh. Thanks for popping by and saying hi!
ReplyDeleteAdam, I was thrilled when Brian told me that you guys were working on the One Shot page. There is some remarkable poet out there and this is a great place to meet some of them. Thank you so much for stopping by and hosting this week.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, they really DO look like flames! I couldn't resist taking pictures,as I had my camera handy, and I kind of figured that they might make an appearance somewhere in my blog. :)
That is definitely a truely magical cloud there! How great that our children have the time and energy to help us to see some really cool moments. I bet your son was proud that you thought it was so cool and stopped to photograph it!
ReplyDelete:)LIsa
the clouds really look like fire in the sky - amazing!
ReplyDeleteI totally was thrilled that my child had helped me to stop and see the beauty of the world around me Lisa. I think she was pretty proud that she had got Mommy's attention so vividly too. Our children are truly wonders sometimes
ReplyDeleteThey really do, don't they Claudia! It was very cool and lasted for long enough for me to find a spot to pull over and snap a picture. By the time we arrived at daycare, they were dispersing and gone when I returned back outside again. A brief bit of wonder for us to enjoy :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting
what stunning images,
ReplyDeletelove the way you do it!
Thanks Ji!
ReplyDeleteyay! i can wait since you came to onestop! smiles. great captures...it really does look like fire....seeing the world through a childs eyes is a magical thing...
ReplyDeleteBeautifully written a lyrical poem pure enchantment, even though it was inspired by a child's eye, it has a depth to it seeing the spiritual side of nature.
ReplyDeleteJoanny
Those do look like flames licking upwards.
ReplyDeleteAnd you know what else they make me think of? The legs of angel synchronized swimmers surfacing from heavenly waters! Kind of? :)
xoxo
