The path walked
wholly unique and
Mine
full of choices
for fate and me
The path walked
decisions made
right, sometimes wrong
Mine
with circumstance and
purposeful steps
The path walked
leading through this,
life’s journey
Mine
Forever’s eternal eyes
Offering it all to the ethers, this
The path walked
Mine.
~
It's Friday.
I remembered that a certain young man
hosted a certain gathering
regarding a certain number of words
Aha, with words writ
and formed into a villanelle
(of all things)
[- my first attempt at the form so go easy on me]
I head back to work
at the rest of my day.
Enjoy!
Katherine...
ReplyDeleteGo easy?
Ha!...This was fantastic!
I've seen this poetic form before. Any form without substance is useless.
Yours was Perfect! I Loved your 55.
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End!

ReplyDelete@Moondustwriter: I have seen many villanelles and have always been blown away how people can make them work. This was my first attempt and I am shocked that it actually pulled together so well. Super cool! Thanks Leslie.
@Ron: Here's hoping your weeken is a sweet one yourself Ron! Thanks for your support.
ReplyDelete(((Ron)))
@Talon: I am trying really hard to own my path. I get more comfortable on my trail the more I allow it. Hope you have a great weekend.
@Doctor FTSE: Thanks!
ReplyDelete@Mona: Sometimes it is hard to really see the path and harder still to own it. I appreciate you stopping by Mona.
Oh wowwiiee!! A villanelle in 55....super cool!!!
ReplyDeleteReally liked the idea in the poem... of paths walking, of choices to make... of how it's all in our hands!
Very nice indeed!
@Kavita: Thanks Kavita. The idea kind of came from another post I wrote and what had been going through my head there.
