Grief
tears do not shatter
the reality awake
only smooth the edge
^^
Soul Jam
we offer sound
for ourselves and other souls
unaware of gifts

Deliverance
my hands have delivered
a small gift of sound
with tears

It is Wednesday.
Best day of the week to sit back and read poetry.
Check out the folks at One Shot
for their weekly Wednesday treat
and if it so tickles you
throw in some verse yourself

i like them all but by fav is "grief" with the tears smoothing the edges..beautiful katherine
ReplyDelete@Claudia: Thanks Claudia. I wrote that one today, and the others a few weeks back. It was inspired by reflections with a friend today.
ReplyDeleteI love Soul Jam... makes me think of the therapeutic and connecting power of music.
ReplyDelete@Dustus: Thanks Dustus. Music really is a powerful medium. It can transport us to old memories, fill us with enthusiasm and hype, or console us when we are feeling sad. I attend a drum circle and love the peace that it brings me. Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeletenice...the soul jam was my fav....having just come from your other place i can see all the more...
ReplyDelete@Brian: Hugs to you my friend. They are related, although Soul Jam came from a slightly different place. They are all me though. Different pieces of me that is a whole. Thanks for stopping by.

All interesting, but "Grief" is truly wonderful, my friend. I just got your chapbook-- thanks for including me. It was fascinating to read and follow you threads of connections between the poems.
ReplyDelete@Mairmusic: That is my favourite as well.
ReplyDeleteI am going to take it that means you liked it? I did try to weave a certain meaning and pattern into where I put everything. And thank you for allowing me to feature you there.
i love this
ReplyDelete@ACEBiggaveli: Thanks Ace
ReplyDeleteLove and enjoyed reading each one of these, Katherine!
ReplyDeleteYou can say so much using so few words.
"Grief" is my fav!
Thank you for sharing your talent, my friend!

What beautiful haiku, Katherine. I love Grief and Soul Jam...well, let's be honest - I love them all. :) Personal and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteEach haiku seemed to flow into the subsequent one... well structured, Katherine!!
ReplyDeletethe Grief haiku was simply WOW!!
hey, I like 'soul jam'
ReplyDeleteI loved these. I think they all three work together in tandem, somehow; there's movement of sorts. Intended or not, they work!
ReplyDeleteHello friends. I keep busy for a day and look at all you lovelies who have come to visit.
ReplyDelete@Ron: My dear, I always love your visits. Thank you & hugs
@Talon: Thanks Talon. There is always some of me in here
@Kavita: I appreciate your thoughts Kavita. Grief felt the strongest to me as well, although Soul Jam is being well received too. Thanks for your thoughts on the flow between the poems.
@kolembo: I love how each haiku speaks differently to individual readers. Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDelete@Dianne: Grief was written at a different time than the other two, but they do flow nice together. Even the titles draw you from one to the next. Thank you for pointing it out and offering your opinion.
Your handful of haiku like fragrant rose petals each unique, each beautiful
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing with One Shot
@Moondustwriter: Thank you for visiting Leslie. Playing host, I would assume you have many poems to peruse. And coming with such lovely thoughts and images, I am grateful. Peace to you.
ReplyDeleteThe last one was powerful.. I enjoyed all three.. thanks for sharing...
