Feet
painted, punished
drifting, dangling, drooping
challenged by the journey
appendages
Feet
youthful, lively
running, jumping, dancing
ready for the next hurdle
Vibrant
Feet
calloused, care-worn
comforting, standing, walking,
there to stride me into tomorrow
stability
Feet
darling, unique
working, moving, living
appreciated for all they have seen and done
mine

What takes you into the future and today? My feet are feeling punished by my journey as of late. I need to appreciate them more for all they do for me. I showcase my tired tootsies over at OneShot with some Cinquain poetry today, but also give a nod to GardenMama and her Wandering Wednesday photo journeys. Happy Wednesday all!
Pardon Me...
ReplyDeleteDid someone tell you about me and my....er. Obsession with beautiful feet?
You My Dear...Have just made a follower for life!
Thank You Eh?
And remember...
ReplyDeleteIt's NOT a fetish, It's an obsession.
And one More Thing...YAHTZEE!!!!!
Feet are fabulous and your poem reminds me why. lol @ G-man!
ReplyDeleteLOVE how you highlight the feet - poems are often about heart and soul and eyes - but seldom one writes about feet - and i LOVE it!
ReplyDeletehaha....g-man. note to self, keep my feet off my blog...lol. mine are not near as lovely as yours. smiles. mine take quite the punishment as well in my hiking...they are not what they used to be...nice cinquain....
ReplyDeleteFeet, like this poem, are meant to take us somewhere. Or anywhere. Nice one.
ReplyDeleteLOL @ G-Man!
ReplyDeleteFeet are nice, except when they step on one's heart. Otherwise, it's fun to go barefoot, especially feeling sand and ocean underfoot. Enjoyed your poem :)
what a delightful way to look at feet!
ReplyDeletea true joy to read.
warm smiles,
Hahaha. I am so tickled by these responses! G-man, you are hilarious! You have made myself, Talon, Brian and Adam laugh with your antics! YOU my friend are super :)
ReplyDeleteAn under-appreciated part of the body that does a lot of work and gets a mean workout, as Brian points out. I thought I would glory them up a bit today Claudia. I am glad that you like it.
ReplyDeleteGlynn and Jessie it is nice to meet you both! Thanks for stopping by and sharing the love. I think a visit might be in order.
ReplyDeletesmiles right back at you Jessie :)
As the bearer of feet best kept locked in the attic like an old insane aunt, I applaud your courage and poetic ability. Oh, and beware of the Yahtzee holder. He has a fet... um, make that obsession with feet. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI like your form, and the pics add a note of whimsy-- nicely done! Sorry to post anonymously, but I can't post on Blogger as Wordpress for the last week+

hahaha. Patti you are droll! Thanks for the warning auntie! I will be wary of where I put my feet in the future! Bwahahahaha
ReplyDeleteNo worries Marilynn. I appreciate you coming by anyway and offering your two cents worth. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteYou shouldn't be too surprised that your feet complain after being walked on all the time.
ReplyDeleteYour poem tickled me - just don't tickle my feet!
I think you have just made me fall in love with feet..after spending all my life despising them for the trauma my rather large ones caused me in my youth...very well written too by the way..and thanks for sharing with One Shot..cheers Pete
ReplyDeleteFeet are amazing they take so much abuse and never say a word - unlike our mouths that never walk a mile on a dusty road but always have the last word.
ReplyDeleteNicely done and thanks for giving us a great 1 Shot
walking a mile on the moon :)
I really think feet the most undermined and overabused part of the human body! At least mine are! :( My hubby yells at me for that... this poem is like a reminder!!!
ReplyDeleteI love walking... a lot!! I think it's time I realize my walkers need some pampering too :)
Thanks for sharing this lovely poem...
Thank you for sharing such thoughtful words Katherine!
ReplyDeleteSome actors say they don't get the character until they have tried the shoes and walk. On boring train journeys I often look at parts of people such as feet and try and get a sense in words of what they tell me about this person so you can read words and see them as well. This your poem does. Thanks for dropping by and reading Campaigning. I’m drawn to poetry as a storytelling technique and this was about the life of a woman emptied out by the political ambitions of her husband.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this post!!!
ReplyDeleteBeing a reflexologist, I know how powerful the feet are.
They truly reflect the souls/soles journey.
