I
Replaced
five doorknobs.
2 that still won’t latch just
so (one if you wiggle and jiggle,
the other no way no how)
Another helped the hammer
to bite me and the last
That was
kind
enough
to slide in just perfect
(and if you are doing
Your math, I have 1 more to go!)
@#%$&?^!
and that my friend is 55 words that I can still slide in over
at G-Man's for his Friday Flash 55
ugh. sounds like its been a rather fun fix it day...
ReplyDeleteIt seems every time I go to fix something, I am fuming at someone by the end (be it me, the girls, Brad, or just plain ole fate/life). You would think I would just give up with being a handyman, but I am too stubborn for my own good some days. The girls are thrilled with their new knobs though, so hallelujah!
ReplyDeleteI hope the last one behaves itself! You'll be an expert soon, Katherine!
ReplyDelete@Talon: I put the last one on, but it too won't latch just so. Grrr...
ReplyDeleteI have to go buy another for the bathroom & I forgot about another closet, so I have two more chances to perfect the fine art of putting on a door knob. :)
Brava, dear girl! And not just for the brilliant Flash 55...
ReplyDelete"Another helped the hammer
to bite me"
HA! Loved that part!
but, also for replacing the doorknobs! I honestly don't think I could do that.
Hope you're having a great weekend!
X
Katherine...
ReplyDeleteYou sound like me with tools.
I duct tape and thats about it!
Loved your 55 My Friend...
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Sunday!
@Ron: The job itself isn't that hard Ron. I did have to make the hole a bit bigger for the plate on the door jamb, but other than that it was just screwing them into place. Maybe that is why the doors just won't click into place now? hmmm...
ReplyDelete@G-Man: My favourite tool is the chalk line. I am such a geek sometimes. I was just never really introduced to much in the line of tools, so now find myself struggling and pissed off about it. I learned much from my husband, but know I just have on my shoulder laughing when I hit my finger with a hammer. Bugger.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting G!
Loved the shape and wording and rhythm...and it's relate-able. Very cool
ReplyDeleteI replaced my screen door's latch...it closes, but not snug enough so that my cat's can't open it with a little pressure...so I got one of those baby gates, and now I put it in place across the doorway and...voila! More than one way to "skin" a cat!
ReplyDeleteRaven: Thanks Raven. I appreciate your comment and visit.
ReplyDelete@Timoteo: More than one way indeed! You are too funny Tim.
