Shades of Blue

Can anything be so perfect
as the cerulean blue sky
cut against
the stark yellow branches
that suggest Spring?

or the circular swirl
of a Ceil-coloured seashell
swept ashore
to be found
by searching hands.

but these hands
have found the magic
in Maya blue
running to Palatinate
that flutters delicate wings
and my heart.

Ah, but my heart
loves this blue best.
Tiffany blue that wraps
around my child's
petite frame
and keeps her snug
and warm
until Spring will finally break
at last

  3. Katherine, these are some STUNNING photos!

The one of the butterfly is incredible. How in the world did you ever get it?

    Your daughter is adorable!

Lovely post, my friend! Spring is almost here!

Hope you had a great day!

  5. @Debbie: Thanks Debbie. Hope you are well.

@Ron: We went to a Butterfly Conservatory over March Break Ron. There were butterflies everywhere. They are really neat places to check out (just make sure that you wear a t-shirt, as they are also disgustingly HUMID - You might hate it! I got a couple of pics of butterfly on my youngest as well, but if you stood still long enough they would land on you. Pretty Cool.

    "Your daughter is adorable!"

Thanks Ron. She is pretty cute, if I do say so myself.

  8. Really nicely done. I especially love your photo of winter blossoms, hydrangea. I cut all mine off this year, trying to purge something, I guess. They look more beautiful when dried, I think.

  10. Oh oh, it would appear that I have misled a few of you dear people. Oops. While I did post over at G-Man's that I would be playing this week for his Friday Flash 55, this post is over in its word count. I actually have a post on for G-Man with Friday's date on it.

@G-Man: I apologize dear sir, as this is not 55. I have another post that is 55, but thank you for your kind words anyway.

@Phermone Girl: I like to leave as much winter interest as I can in the yard. It is like a promise that winter will end at some point. :)

haha, this was actually just a plain old Thursday post Joanny. I have another post today that is 55 words (well, plus pic descriptions).

@Talon: Thanks Talon. I was inspired by the blue, blue sky that has been filling our world the last few days.
