Winter in Canada

It’s January.
Snow at 9 AM;
Expected  5-10 cm of white stuff.
Not as much as last month, but still…
I  even shoveled the driveway.

At Costco
I saw a guy in shorts
WTF!

^^^

I don't get it.
We live in Canada.
It is cold here in the winter
Pretty much all the time!
whatever...
I think I will go see what Monkey Man
is up to on his Sunday 160 today.

  1. That's so funny. We don't get much snow here in Portland, but it was in the high 20's last week and tweens and teens are walking around in shorts and T's...too cool to be cold. Thanks for playing along with the Sunday 160.

  2. Funny you mentioned the guy in the shorts, because a few weeks ago I saw a guy walk through the store in not only shorts, but FLIP-FLOPS too!

    WTF?

I mean I LOVE Winter and being cold, but I DRESS for it!

    Great photo, Katherine!

Hope you had a super weekend!

  3. I'm always amazed by the number of people that I see walking around barely clothed in the freezing weather!

  4. @Monkey Man: Yeah, the whole too cool for the cold thing is just ridiculous in my books. I am human. I don't like it when my extremities start developing frost bite. Weird?

    Thanks for hosting MM

Yeah! This photo was taken last year, but I still remember thinking that snow pants would have been better than the long-johns under the pants. I can sport geek pretty good, but frigged if I am going to wander around frozen! Dumb, da, dumb, dumb, dumb!

  7. @Mama Zen: People like that just make me cold. Move to the Equator if you want to wear shorts all year! This guy had on a big puffy winter jacket too. I just don't get it. did I mention that he was probably in his late 40s early 50s? Old enough to know better.

  8. @Suzicate: I hear you suzi! I am a hardy Canadian and love being out in the snow, but my shorts and sandals were packed away months ago! I will re-introduce my pasty toes and legs to the light closer to ... maybe April or May!

  11. You have me rolling here. We have snow and ice in Georgia today. Enough to sneeze at to you, but you know we southerners are shutting down our whole world because of it. :)

  12. @Brian: Oh Brian! NO! They are a rare breed and they make me cold. I might need to put on another pair of socks just thinking about it.

  14. @Neva: Aw, poor you! Well, enjoy the snow day. Really, a snow day can be a lot of fun. If you don't have to drive in it, that is. Enjoy your white stuff while it lasts Neva!
