Gaze upon
flower fair
Soon a pumpkin
full of flair
Grow &
flourish in Autumn light
Only to turn
to spectre of fright
Halloween
Demands it be
who’s to fault
but you & me

With so many out and about in the pumpkin patch this weekend, I thought I would join in the fun. My jack 'o lanterns are from days gone by, but we have been growing lovely decorative squashes in the driveway (self-seeded again) that shall be carved up in a few weeks time. Happy Sunday 160 hosted by Monkey Man!
I'll take the blame. Gladly. I love carving the jack o lantern.
ReplyDeletenice...we wil be carving ours in a couple weeks...i have to figure out how to carve a bobe fett and queen amidala...go figure...smiles.
ReplyDeleteYour flower squash close up is lovely and delicate looking, the pumpkin poems are delightful and carefree and full of the harvest season.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Joanny
nice birdies who deposited the seeds for you and even nicer you let them grow,
Fun 160. I guess we better start thinking about Halloween. We get 100 or more kids every year!

Fun 160! I like the fair / flair rhyme images.
ReplyDeleteSoon we'll get out to a pumpkin patch too, always a highlight for Kelly and her buddie.

* Hi Audrey. While I don't mind carving up the pumpikin, I love collecting the seeds to roast. YUM!
ReplyDelete*Good luck with that Brian. I am still on triangles and rectangles with teeth.
* Hi Joanny
ReplyDeleteNot sure if it was the birds or compliments of the kids that we have gourds growing everywhere. The birds certainly help with the sunflowers, as I haven't had to buy any seeds for a few years now. My biggest gourds were out at my husband's grave where we left him some decoration last year. We went to visit a month ago and he had vines twisting everywhere! He was taking over the joint! We brought home his offerings and will carve them up for Halloween.
* over 100 kids Victoria? Whoa! I think we get closer to a dozen. I usually leave a bowl out for people to help themselves while I take the kids out. It is always empty when we return, and I am sure that all the kids are perfectly honest and only take one thing a piece.
ReplyDelete*Thanks Jannie. The poem was longer, but darn 160 had me carving it down some. We will have to collect some other pumpkins as well at some point so that I can get my fix of roasted seeds.
I love this time of year!! Great Pumpkins!! Nice 160
ReplyDeleteMe too Cindy! I have to get working on costumes for the kids.
