Inspiration

I am writing and writing.
The words once stalled
now fly from pen
I try to push
fingers
faster
keep the
stream flowing
smoother, finer
more detailed,
less
oblique.
I reach for my
glass; Inspiration.
Ruby liquid  poured
down throat onto page
in  poetry and fodder for
and you today...

  1. Nice double punch -- You managed to get the Magpie in 55 words and it feels so smooth and palatable like good wine.

  4. There's a hint of wine glass in your poem's outline. You've found a pleasant way to uncork the writer's block. Very smooth.

  6. Ha! I've had writer's block cured in just such a manner before. It's a fine line though, too much of a good thing and my words aren't quite as brilliant as I remember them, when reviewed the next morning through clear eyes. :)

  8. Can realte to the feeling you express very well. Appreciate how the piece comes around to the audience—the writer sharing her vision, inspiration. Also like the visual form to the post. Well done, k

  14. @Stranger: funny what a little vino-grease does for the ole inspiration :)

Pssst.... and I think you stole G's Yatzhee! Better watch out!

@G-Man: Oh, hi there Galen, Mr Hosty with the mosty! :D

It wouldn't take much for you to swing up for a glass of inspiration with me. And if red isn't your colour, there is a drive-thru beer store at the end of my street. I am sure we could find something to toast with. Thanks for being a kick-ass host. Hope you have a great weekend.

  15. @Enchanted Oak: I was playing with the shape here, but maybe another glass would have helped on that visual front for me. Thanks for stopping by.

@Shanae Branham: Hi Shanae. Thanks for stopping by and weighing in. I always appreciate people's thoughts on what I create, especially when they are so nice. Cheers!

  16. @Me & @Brian: I cheers you both! Me, I know what you are saying. Something to be said for that re-read the next day before you hit publish. And Brian, a glass of inspiration with you any day would be a lot of fun I bet. Have a great weekend yourself.

@Dustus: Hi Adam. I think in the playing with the form of the poem, the flow of it was improved. I removed words and changed placement. Lo and behold it read better as well! I must admit that I am not above a glass of inspiration myself. And as far as the audience goes; I write for me, but almost as much for the dear folks who come to offer their support. Thanks for cheering me on today.

  24. @Pattiken: As mentioned by "Me" as long as it is not a glass too many of inspiration, then it works like a dream. One too many and you might find the flow a little faultier than you thought the next day.

@Doctor FTSE: Well I thank you kindly for saying as much good Dr.

  25. @Lucy Westenra: I kind of thought so as well Lucy! Thanks for stopping by.
