The Aftermath

The snow has past,
for now we pray.
I believe it'll last
till Christmas day.

Up to my waist
in the deep back yard.
You should see this place!
I might be forever scarred.

But the sun came out
And schools re-opened for play.
So I just had to run about
For kid-free retail therapy!

Yippee,
55 words to you
from me
to throw at G-Man's flash party crew

  1. All right, all right, you've got me beat! Just don't send any here, even if most of ours melted today. I really, really want to see blacktop again, preferably without the sheet of ice on top.

Retail therapy? Oh man, I still haven't done any Christmas shopping yet.

  4. I bought baubles and books (well magazines), ducks and drawer liners, shared coffee and chicken, then was spoiled with pizza and pleasantries with friends. I am feeling soooo much better.

and not to rub it in Alice, but I think I might be done... :)

  6. Ha. Barely begun my Christmas shopping yet. What can I say? I like a challenge! ;)

That is one heck of a lot of snow, my friend. We are often hammered in my neck of the woods, but you definitely have me well and truly beat in the accumulation in this go 'round.

  7. Got it all in a few days to boot. I am sure you will beat me out in the long haul C, although we got as much snow in this little squall as we did all last winter! Amazing!! They say it will be a snowy winter, so I am hoping Santa brings me some more mitts & new insoles :D

  11. @Talon: Oh, yesterday was lovely Talon! I spent the day with girlfriends (best thing in the world is shopping with girlfriends, isn't it?) and even got a pizza dinner out of the deal at the end of the day. Kids are in school today; first school this week! And the weather forecast is for another storm this weekend. Hunkering down for the winter begins now!

  14. Yeesh, that's way too much snow. Waaaay too much. I've been feeling for you, with the broken water works and all. Glad to hear you managed to get out and engage in some frivolity. Enjoyed the pic and poem.

  18. @Monkey: Yup. It is.

@Hedgewitch: I gloried in a day spent with the girls yesterday whittling down the last of my christmas list. Thanks for thinking of me stuck in a snow bank!

  19. @Mairmusic: Thanks Marilynn. I don't mind it when it isn't that cold out. It has been cold enough to keep the snow falling, but not to cold to make your nose stick together :)

@Ron: It is pretty remarkable stuff I have to say. We got as much snow in a few days as we got all last year! Wow. Our normal for December is half of what we just got. We are headed out to cut down a Christmas tree this weekend, so it should be fun. Have an awesome weekend yourself Ron. Hugs
