A funeral for a friend of the family has me preoccupied and sad, as the world spins on tonight. Another spark is pinched out just when it is needed most. Strength to you Pat.
Blessings George. May your journey to the beyond be well...
That is just so beautiful on so many levels.

@Possum: What a beautiful expression Possum. Thank you so much for sharing it here with me. I love learning more about my South African roots, and this is a special one.

@Brian: The loss of a soul is always a sad thing. I feel such sorrow for the family that has to let go of another's earthling being. When you can finally see a little through your grief, you know that the lost soul has really gone nowhere, but it is an achingly painful journey that Pat is now stepping onto.
ReplyDelete@pattiken: Thank you so much Patti. He was a friend of the family. George was probably my step-father's best friend and i believe it hurt him to have to say goodbye so soon. To be a pall-bearer was a journey that he had not wanted to have to make, but we do things we sometimes don't think we can. It is what is necessary, if not desired. I needed to be at the funeral to support my step-father, mother and the grieving family. They all needed hugs and I know how much it hurts when even a hug barely grazes the soul. I cannot help but ache fresh grief every time I go there.
ReplyDelete@Ron: Thank you Ron. I can wield words skillfully in grief, as it lingers on the wings of my life too close. I pay my respects to a spirit that will be missed by many. Peace to you.
ReplyDeleteAw Kat...
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry....(((BIGHUG)))
sad,
ReplyDeleteI can image that feeling, well expressed.
imagine, not image, typo of mine, oops.
ReplyDelete@G-Man: You know G-Man, it is an interesting thing to walk through loss with someone. It brings up so much from your own life. I was there to support others, but found my very own tears as well. So it goes. Thank you for the hugs. I can always use them.
ReplyDelete@Jingle: Grief is a process. Everyone has their own experiences with it, but the pain can be universal. Peace to you Ji
