@Brian: Actually my eldest has been having nightmares over the last week. She wakes up and can't get back to sleep again. I just get to try to soothe her back to sleep (for the better part of an hour at 2-4am UGH!)
@Patti: She has had 3 now over the last week or so. The first one she was convinced that she never fell asleep at all, even though it was 2:30ish when she came into my room. I too am hoping that they will pass quickly, as Momma is grumpy when she is tired!
When I was kid (about 8-9 years old), I went through a period of about a year when I was constantly having nightmares. And like your daughter, I would wake up screaming, and also crying. And it's odd, because it was the same dream over and over again. And yet, the REALLY odd part about it was that when my parents would ask me WHAT I was having a nightmare about, I couldn't remember. Eventually, the nightmares just stopped.
@Ron: I think she is about the same as far as knowing what the dream is about. When I ask her, she doesn't really have an answer. Hopefully they will disappear from whence they came rather quick though!
Must be something in the air...my little guy has been having some doozy nightmares this past week or so, too... Grumpy mommy, indeed. I am so tired, I blew right threw a red light today...thank goodness there was nobody going the other way!
ugh...the thoughts always come at night...when we are tired and can not fight them off as well...glad you found the light...

DeleteOh, your poor daughter. They must be horrible to keep her awake. That's so difficult for you both. I hope this passes soon.
