PROFESSIONAL PAGES

Initially, when I discovered the world of blogging, I entered it for my owns devices. Don't we all? I had been writing thoughts into journals for years, but was at a point where I wanted to go further with it. Fate introduced me to someone who suggested that I start a blog, as another avenue for the written word. I was intrigued and went to explore this new space called the blogosphere. I dabbled at a few posts, but didn't quite get it and focused my attention elsewhere for a while. It called me back again though, and this time I found myself hooked.

This blog is a place for me to write poetry, short stories and whatever prose spills out of my head. The longer I have kept at it, the better my writing has become. Slowly but surely, the intention to become a writer has morphed into a reality. While anyone that puts pen to page, or fingertips to keyboard can fashion themselves a writer, I have gone further than that. Through the encouragement by other bloggers, friends and family, I have expanded my sessions at the computer to include paid work. I am becoming.

Once I began to call myself a writer, I truly became one. I carved out a niche in my living room to dedicate to an office and now happily write blog posts there. I have been pleasantly surprised to find others interested in my writing and expertise in social media. I have listened to all the subtle pushes that the universe has sent my way, and now lay claim to being a contributing writer for the blogs at CLC Tree Services Blog, In Your Neighbourhood and a unique online baby boutique based out of Connecticut. I also had a six-month contract  for Premier Fitness Campwhere I wrote food/nutrition and exercise articles, as well as the opportunity to write several articles for a local art teacher at Budding Artists Studio. Add to that the time I spent in organization, scheduling and miscellaneous writing for the I Love Authors blog and Blog Talk Radio show. All very exciting.

As is the nature of the world, there are other pans in the fire as well, but I suddenly find myself a working writing. While I am thrilled by all of these new endeavours, I will try my best to be true to my heart and keep at my own first love of writing for me. Thank you all for being a part of my journey.

Write on my friends!
