Friends of Mr Toad

Yellow finch, swallow and robin too,
all friends of Mr Toad.
You can find them all
in garden glen
basking just up the road
~

Hmm, so maybe that's a frog in the picture, but I do have a few resident toads in my yard, plus a few more at the Community Garden plot that inspired this short poem.
Who's going to be picky, when a photo is worth a thousand words?
Hope you have a friend or two
just up the road as well!

  1. Oh, what a sweet and clever poem, Katherine!

And honestly, I can't tell the difference between a toad or a frog?!?

    AWESOME photo!

Hope you're having a faaaaaabulous week, my friend!

    1. @Ron: You are even more of a city slicker than I am! Haha. You find frogs in the water, mostly ponds and small rivers. Toads tend to hang out in gardens (like mine!) and shaded areas on land.

I just might have to make some toad houses to keep my friends happy! Be well Ron!

    1. @Brian: I take it as a sign of a healthy garden, so they are all friends of mine. Not going to kiss them any time soon to see if they turn into princes though ;)

  3. Excellent, I have never figured out the difference between a frog and a toad or a crocodile and an alligator either :)

    1. @Neva Flores: I can't really help you with the alligator/crocodile thing, aside from that Florida gets gators & I have seen crocs in Africa.
